IPCPR 2017: Pure Aroma Cigars Inc.

Located at the back of the show floor, Pure Aroma Cigars Inc., the company behind the D’Crossier blends and its subsets, had several new products to show off as well as a rebranded design for its popular cigar cans.The company is also shifting some production to the ABAM factory in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The factory is known both for its work with Villiger and for being a cigar factory in Santo Domingo. The country’s capital city isn’t known for cigar production, rather it’s Santiago and La Romana that handle most of that work.Flor de D’Crossier Cabinet Selection Trabuco

A new offering under the Flor de D’Crossier header, this only comes in a gordo vitola and is highlighted by a unique hybrid wrapper from Ecuador. Part of the hybrid is a Habano 2011 seed, while the other half is undisclosed.

There are three new sizes and an updated blend for what is arguably D’Crossier’s best known line, the Golden Blend. The sampler itself sells for $288, though the cigars do get individual pricing should a retailer want to break it up. Each sampler contains four of each of the new vitolas for a total of 12 cigars, and only 200 samplers are being produced.

A new maduro version is being introduced to the line, while the cans are getting a packaging update, dropping the name of Jose Timoteo Gonzales Ferrer, Diaz’s former business partner, in favor of the new Santana & Cia. name. Production is moving to the ABAM factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic as well. One other note, the habano version of the line gets a tweaked blend, with a Dominican Piloto Cubano binder now being used in place of the Costa Rican Sumatra binder originally used. Costa Rican tobacco has also been pulled from the filler.

Inspired by “the ideals of being true to oneself and asserting personal freedom to make inspired choices,” the Flor de D’Crossier Selección Suprema No. 560 is a new three vitola line that will arrive at retailers this fall. It gets its name from the belief of angel numbers, or number sequences that hold certain meanings, with 560 representing change and making progress towards goals. Isaias Santana Diaz calls it “an expression of our values and is the epitome of everything a cigar should be admired for.” A total of 600 boxes will be produced for this year, but it will be an ongoing, regular production release with more coming out of the ABAM Cigars S.R.L. factory in the future.
